The Opportunity
This role centers on technical documentation and project coordination to support medical equipment repairs and training programs. Responsibilities include developing and updating work instructions, documenting verification testing protocols, and creating ISO 13485-compliant documentation in collaboration with engineers and technicians. The role also tracks project progress, reports quality metrics, and ensures alignment between documentation and technician training objectives. Active participation in audits and continuous improvement initiatives will be needed periodically to ensure documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Documentation
- Create technical documentation, work instructions, and functional verification testing for a variety of electromechanical systems
- Collaborate with senior technicians, engineers, and training teams to capture best practices and translate hands-on repair knowledge into standardized work instructions
- Update prior technical documents and verification testing notes and import files into designated file storage
- Create and update documentation to support ISO 13485 compliance and other regulatory requirements within our quality management system
Project Coordination
- Track engineering projects by capturing status of tasks and reporting on quality metrics
- Support training initiatives by developing comprehensive training materials, visual aids, and reference guides that enhance technician learning and retention
- Partner with training coordinators to ensure work instructions align with curriculum objectives and learning outcomes for repair technician development programs
- Participate in document reviews and audits to ensure continuous improvement of documentation processes
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities you'll need for this opportunity:
- 3+ years of experience documenting work instructions for electronic or electromechanical systems
- Experience working with documentation requirements customary within a formal quality management system (ISO 13485, ISO 9001, or similar)
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple high priority items at once
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
